ABOUT US

The Half Full Pickle is an annual pickleball event dedicated to raising awareness and support for mental health through community, connection, and play. Whether you’ve never picked up a paddle, are just getting the hang of the game, or already love it — this event welcomes you with open arms.

Started by Amer Nabil, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and founder of Half Full Psychiatry in Glastonbury, CT, the event was inspired by his personal experience finding joy and connection through pickleball. The day invites beginners and those who’ve never played to jump on the court and simply experience the sport — win or lose — in a welcoming and supportive environment. We’ will also appreciate your feedback after you play, which will help guide future research on pickleball and its mental health benefits.

Please be advised there is NO FEE to your friends or family to play. However, if you like you can make choose to make a nominal donation on the day of the event towards fighting mental illness.

This is more than just a game — it’s a movement for connection, hope, and healing. Whether you’re curious about the sport or simply want to support a meaningful cause, swing by, try something new, and stand for something bigger. Let’s rally for mental health — together.
